One-of-a-kind handmade couture piece — custom sewn by a Saks Fifth Avenue seamstress. This mid-century wool dress was handmade by the same seamstress who worked in the Saks Fifth Avenue couture department in the early 1960s, carrying the refined craftsmanship and tailoring techniques associated with Sophie of Saks and Bergdorf ateliers of the time. The dress showcases expert structure and detailing, including the use of traditional frog-style closures down the right side — a nod to Asian-influenced couture silhouettes popular during the early 1960s. Constructed from a luxurious deep crimson wool with a full satin lining, this piece was meticulously hand-finished, reflecting couture-level precision and artistry.
