It does taper in slightly at the least. The back closes with a zipper and has a slit at the bottom. There is red fabric lining on the inside. The jacket is a mini crop three-quarter sleeve jacket. It is in the same red and colorful square print. It has large red plastic jewel like diamonds buttons. The back has an adorable bow at the top with a plate split going down the middle.
