This fantastic, rare vintage Saks Fifth Avenue statement belt features five King Edward VII coins surrounded by gold starbursts on a red leather band. The abbreviated Latin on the coins, “Edwardvs VII dei gra britt omn rex fid def ind imp” translates to “Edward the Seventh by the Grace of God King of all the Britains Defender of the Faith Emperor of India.” A bit about King Edward VII: Known for his lavish lifestyle and international social connections, his 1901 - 1910 reign was characterized by the prosperity of the Edwardian era, key foreign policy achievements, and significant military and naval reforms. I haven’t been able to find any comps — it seems super rare — but the belt looks to be from the ‘80s. Length is 32 inches end to end, width is 2 3/4 inches at the widest. The belt is very small and best suited for XXS waistlines. Besides some light vintage wear (visible in photos), the belt is in excellent pre-owned condition.
