Faceted natural Smoky Quartz gemstone surrounded by small faceted cubic zirconia set in a pretty sterling silver pendant. Smoky quartz symbolizes calm, confidence, and cheerfulness. Quartz is the alternative April birthstone. (Diamond is the primary April birthstone.) Smoky quartz may also be correctly spelled 'Smokey Quartz', but Smoky is the more common spelling. The gem is also historically named Cairngorm, after the Cairngorm Mountains in Scotland, but that name has largely fallen out of usage. It is the national gem of Scotland.
