NEW: Now everyone on Curtsy can shop Clear Out Lots 🛍

The wait is over! Everyone can now bid on “lots” of 3+ highly discounted items from the same seller.

Say Hello to Curtsy Clear Outs: The Ultimate Shopping Hack!

We’re thrilled to announce that everyone can now shop Curtsy Clear Outs! You can now shop bulk lots of 3+ clothing items at a discount, and pay only one shipping price. That’s right, it’s your time to score big on fashion deals and upgrade your thrifting game with ease!

Compared with normal, single item listings that are available on the app until they sell, Clear Outs sell via auction over 7 days. Once the auction ends, the seller will ship the entire Clear Out in one shipment to the buyer with the winning bid.

How does bidding work?

To get started, simply tap ‘Place Bid’ on the Clear Out you’re interested in. From there, you’ll be able to place a single bid or choose the Autobid option. With Autobid, you choose your maximum bid and we’ll bid for you in $1 increments up to your max to help you win the auction.

Don’t want to wait until the end of the auction? Tap “Buy It Now” to name your price & send an offer to the seller. Sellers have 48 hours to respond to your binding offer. If they accept, you win the lot!

Not ready to bid, but want to stay updated on the hype? Tap “Add To Watchlist” to be notified of new bids and when the auction is an hour from ending.

We know you’ll love the convenience and affordability that Curtsy Clear Out brings, and we’re excited for you to experience it.  If you’d like more info, check out our FAQ page or send us a message in the app.

Now introducing Curtsy Clear Out: The Fastest Way to Sell 💸

Clear Out is a convenient way to sell more than 3 items quickly. You only make one listing for all your items that sell via auction to members of our Wholesale program.

For when you have little time, but a lot to sell

Selling clothes online should be simple. After months of research, we learned that the number one reason people don’t sell their clothes is because it takes too much time. Especially when they have a lot to sell. That’s why we’re launching Clear Out, a simpler way to sell.

While listing one item at a time is still the best way to maximize your earnings on each item, Clear Out is the best way to sell a lot of clothes, with a fraction of the work.

How Does Clear Out Work?

To get started just tap ‘sell’ at the bottom of your app and select the new Clear Out option.

Compared with normal, single item listings that are live on the app until they sell, Clear Out listings have 3 or more items and sell via auction over 7 days to members of our Wholesale Program.

At the end of the week, you’ll ship out all your items in one bag to the highest bidder. We’ll even mail you the bag and the prepaid shipping label to use. It’s that simple.

Read more on how Clear Out works

Here’s what our users are saying

We’re so excited to share this feature with you. If you’d like more info, watch our video or send us a message in the app. If you’re interested in learning more the Wholesale program, send us a message.

We know Clear Out may not be perfect from day one, so we’d love to hear from you on how we can continue to improve it ([email protected]).

We’re excited for your feedback!

Cheers 🥰

Comeback Queens: UGG Boots

Once the Classic UGG Boot was introduced to the world, it stuck in the minds of all different kinds of people as an iconic, blanket-by-the-fire warm shoe. Originating in 1978, UGG evolved from surf-wear to luxe-casual wear worn by everyone from y2k reality stars to your middle school best friend. Most recently, they’ve collaborated with visionary artists and designers to bring their brand to the next level. Learn more below about UGG’s rebrand and how to style UGG boots, slippers, and handbags to complete your winter outfits. 🤍

UGG’s History

Before becoming a major staple across high fashion and everyday wear, UGGs were the best kept secret across surf culture in Cali. In 1978, the brand originated with the vision of Brian Smith, a surfer who moved from Australia to SoCal¹. They were created as warm shoes to put on right after surfing in cold waters, but the practice of creating boots from sheepskin dates all the way back to rural 1920s Australia². It’s no wonder that after all these years, comfort is still key for UGG.

UGG in the 2000s

UGG evolved from strictly surf-wear to a pop culture force when celebrities such as Pamela Anderson, Kate Moss, and Beyonce started casually wearing them². For Millennials especially, UGGs were all the rage, so much so that I remember having an 8th  grade teacher who had a collection of 60 different pairs! Not only were there endless styles and colors, but the materials that UGG uses to craft their items are unmatched in quality.

UGG’s Rebrand

From the early 2000s on, UGG carved out a spot in fashion history, but the brand hit a wall as their classic shoes were basically everywhere. Since 2018, UGG has pushed beyond their limits with tons of artsy collaborations. In 2020, designer Telfar Clemens teamed up with UGG to create FEEL YOU, a collaboration with over 30 creatives who combined the two brands’ unisex, everyday luxury values. Items from the collection, like the UGG X Telfar Small Reverse Shopper, can now be found on Curtsy!

Style the Staples

Whether you’re the queen of minimalism or like to experiment with colors and layers, you can always fit UGGs into the mix. Trending UGG styles like platform boots, ultra-minis, and slippers are so versatile. See how to style them below!

Maxis & Minis

Classic UGG boots are reliable and comfortable, but there’s always room for a twist. Experimenting with extreme lengths has been all the rage for clothes and shoes this year. Maxi length pieces are perfect to balance out the unique, unexpected look of UGG ultra minis or platforms, two of the trendiest styles out right now.  Whether you wear a cozy but structured maxi coat or a denim maxi skirt with a sporty top (like a half-zip hoodie), long and clean lines will draw attention to your ultra-short (or tall) shoes.

Light Wash Denim

Light wash denim is an absolute classic pairing with UGGs, and it can also give you the chance to play with bright colors more. Try pairing light wash denim jeans (or a skirt) with a simple white top and bright colored UGG slippers or boots (I love the pink ones 💖). You can also add a matching cardigan for more boldness (like Bella Hadid’s all-denim look with pink UGG slippers and a matching cardi 💅). The key to adding more texture and layers to this for winter is accessories (that you can thrift on Curtsy 💛)– from chunky scarves, to clean white socks, and pre-academia headbands.

Earth Toned Layers

Shades of brown and green are big this season, and UGG pieces in neutral colors – from boots to handbags – pair perfectly. Keep yourself warm this winter with layered fits in colors inspired by the calmness of nature. To make sure your layers don’t get overshadowed by each other, try mixing fabrics like corduroy, suede, sherpa, and denim. Adding in an off-white top or skirt can also create some contrast between similar earthy colors. Treat your UGG ‘fit like a canvas with the warmest colors you can think of 🌞

Whether you’re searching for your first pair of UGGS or have you worn them for years and want to switch up styles, Curtsy has a ton of options. Can’t wait to see the looks you create!

No Seller Fees For the First Time Ever 💥#ReverseBlackFriday

We’re flipping the switch this Black Friday. To encourage cleanout over consumption, we’re waiving ALL seller fees on new items listed from Friday, Nov 25 through Sunday, Nov 27.

#ReverseBlackFriday

Over 85% of textiles produced end up in landfills. In America alone, that amounts to about 81 lbs of clothing per person, yearly. With Reverse Black Friday, we’ve envisioned a fun way to keep fashion out of landfills and help folks earn extra money for the holidays.

This is the perfect time to do something about that pile of clothes you don’t wear anymore… the ones that you’ve been meaning to do something about for months. List any item on Curtsy from Friday, Nov 25 through Sunday, Nov 27 with no seller fees.

Questions about Reverse Black Friday?

Check out our FAQ below or send us an email at [email protected].

  • When is the promotion? You can start listing items for zero seller fees anytime on November 25. All items must be listed by midnight November 27th to have no fees
  • What are seller fees normally? Our seller fees are $1 + 5% of sale price + 2.9% payment processing fee
  • Are seller fees waived for all items? Yes, all items that are typically allowed on Curtsy are included in this promotion. You can read our Seller FAQ to learn more about what items we allow on Curtsy
  • What if the item sells after the promotion ends? If you list an item from Nov 25 through Nov 27, it won’t ever have seller fees, no matter when it sells
  • Are you also doing a typical Black Friday sale? To encourage cleanout over consumption, our only Black Friday promotion is to waive seller fees 11.25 – 11.27 🙂
  • Is there a limit to the amount I can post? Nope! You can post as many items as you’d like
  • Do I need to do anything to get no seller fees? Nope! As long as you list your items from Nov 25 through Nov 27, your items will automatically have zero seller fees
  • Does this affect the items I already have listed on Curtsy? Our Black Friday promotion is only for new items listed on Curtsy and does not affect any items you already have listed
  • Can I make drafts before Friday Nov 25 to post during the promotion? Any draft made before Friday Nov 25 will still have seller fees.

Happy listing!

20 Tips to Ship: The Curtsy Shipping Guide

You know the old saying…ship happens! You’ve just sold something on Curtsy and now the only thing standing between you and scoring extra cash in your Curtsy Wallet is shipping. We’re here to show you that shipping is easy. Straight from our customer support team to you – here’s tips to becoming a shipping queen! With this shipping guide you’ll ship easy and have buyers (and USPS) coming back for more!

The 1-2-3-4 of Shipping

  1. Print out the shipping label we email to you or request a label to be mailed to you
  2. Pack your item in any small box or envelope, or use our Shipping Kit
  3. Give your package to USPS, schedule a pickup, or drop it in a USPS bin
  4. Be sure to mark your sale as “Shipped” in the app and you get paid once it ships!

For more details check out our Shipping FAQ Page

Label Tips: We’re into labels

  1. Print your label: Regular size 8 1/2 paper or label sticker works just fine!
  2. Use the link from Curtsy to print so the label is clear (not a photo of a photo).
  3. No printer? No problem! When creating your pre-paid label, tap “request label via mail”. We’ll mail your label the next business day, and you’ll receive it within 5-7 business days! Request a label soon after you sell to avoid delays.
  4. You can also find a printer near you at a print shop, school, friend’s house or public library.

Packaging Tips: Wrap it up

  1. Pack up your item, any small box or envelope will do!
  2. Order our Shipping Kit: Don’t worry about finding a box! Buy a shipping kit and we’ll send you mailers to have for your next sale.
  3. Sustainable packaging: Reuse a box or envelope (Yes, even an Amazon box). Remember to remove or cover old labels and tape.

💡Pro tip: In a pinch? Flip a previously used mailer inside out. What’s old is new again!

  1. Tape on your label, but DON’T tape over the barcode (it’s harder for USPS to scan over tape).
  2. Use tissue paper and padding on fragile items like sunglasses and jewelry, and to keep your items from moving around in the box.
  3. Keep it clean: Make sure items are dirt free and match your listing.
  4. Take photos of your item before and after packaging for your own records.

Personalization Tips: Be a little extra

  1. Add in a thoughtful thank you note, sticker, or extra gift with your package as a fun surprise for the buyer.
  2. Draw doodles on the package for a nice touch.

Drop off Tips: Options to Ship it!

  1. Let USPS come to you: You can schedule a pickup with USPS using this link, and USPS will come to you!
  2. Drop off at the post office: Leave your package with a clerk inside USPS, and be sure to get a receipt for your records!
  3. Use a blue USPS drop box: Drop your package in any USPS dropbox near you! (This option can sometimes come with increased delays, so try the options above first if you can! Be sure to snap a quick pic of the info on the drop box too!)

Quick Guide to a Winter Closet Clean Out

Who says you have to save your big closet clean out until Spring? The sun is officially setting later each day, so it’s the perfect time to take advantage of the burst of energy that comes with a bit of extra daylight! ✨

I have three easy steps you can follow to clean out your closet for this Winter season AND help you play your part in circular fashion* for years to come (*a sustainable approach to fashion where clothes are reused and recycled in endless amounts of ways, instead of throwing them away). ♻️

🔎 Figure out what’s already working

Imagine your closet as a place you can emerge from each day with a layer of armor that helps you take on the world  💪. I know that might seem impossible with a prom dress stuffed in the corner, or an old winter coat blocking the flared corduroy pants you just bought – but that’s all background noise for now! Time to take a deep breath and figure out what does work first.

First, ask yourself how you want to look and feel this season, and set aside the basics and classics that’ll fulfill that vision 👁️‍🗨️. Now comes the fun part – what are some unique gems buried in your closet that will show the world your outfits are made for you and no one else? Set these aside too! (Need some help? Make a 2022 vision board).

The answers might come right away – but if they don’t, you can always keep mental notes over a week or two on the pieces you are drawn to/wear the most, and set those aside in your closet 💭

💚 Make your space sustainable

If anything is constant, it’s change, but creating a space where you can cycle through changes and evolve will help you stay grounded for the long run. To keep the closet clean out momentum going throughout the year (and the year after that 🤩), try setting aside an area for all things resell. This could be a section of your closet, a corner of a room, or even an attic space, where you go to decide what you want to donate, resell, and buy for yourself. You can set up some warm lighting, a full-length mirror to try out different looks (and model items to list on Curtsy! 📸), and a cozy chair or floor pillow to pack up your sales and browse for those hidden gems (bonus points if you call this your Curtsy Corner 😉).

💎 Thrift Your Dream Closet

At this point, you probably can’t wait to level up your winter wardrobe with key pieces – like the perfect pair of platform Converse to go with your distressed dad jeans. But after taking inventory of what works, note what’s desperately needed. Maybe you’re way more comfortable in oversized denim this year instead of bombers.

Made it a goal to work out more? Why not treat yourself to Lululemon leggings in your favorite color? Or maybe you’ve picked up painting again and want a cute patterned bandana to keep your hair out of your eyes while you focus. Whichever items you end up thrifting, they’ll mean a lot to the person you’re working hard each day to become 🎇

By cleaning out the old and creating a closet space you want to keep going back to, you’ll turn sustainable fashion into a practice for life 🌍💙

5 Ways to Style Your New (or Old) Uggs

Uggs? Crew socks? Puffers? An Ugg campaign featuring our girl CHER?! ❤️‍🔥 This is sounding a lot more like 2009 and less like 2022, right? But don’t worry, whether you want to revive your decade-old Uggs or managed to get the new Ugg Mini II, Ugg Ultra Mini, Ugg Neumel, or platform slippers (Ugg Tazz, Ugg Tasman, or Ugg Disquette), we’ve seen it all at Curtsy and we are here to help you out.

Read on to see how to style your sweet sherpa kicks! We’re ranking these looks from dressed up to the most casual…

  1. Wide or straight legged trousers. Since we gave skinny jeans the kiss of death last year, we’ve been on the hunt for new ways to style our new favorite pair of trousers. Well, the good news is that the possibilities with Uggs are endless! Treat your trousers as you would with a good combat boot or your favorite sneaker: cuff your pants (show a little skin..or sock 😏) or flaunt the wide legged look by just letting them casually drape over the boot. This look works with any Ugg style.

    how to style uggs: trousers

  2. Denim. Take your favorite mom jeans or crisp white pair of denim and style them however you want with your Uggs. Similar to trousers, cuff ‘em, leave ‘em hanging, whatever you like. The fun part here is you can dress up your look with a button up and an oversized blazer or take the more casual approach with a hoodie and a statement coat.

how to style uggs: with denim

  3. Leggings. Leggings? With Uggs? Groundbreaking. In all seriousness, this sounds like a no brainer, but dress up your Uggs with leather or wax-coated leggings or your favorite Gymshark, Lululemon, or Nike pair you snagged from Curtsy. Have fun with cool crew socks or a classic pair of socks from Nike. Throw on a cropped puffer or favorite wool winter coat.

    how to style uggs: leggings

  4. Flared yoga pants. Another comeback piece, yoga pants are no longer just for walking the dog or doing the downward dog. Style your Uggs and flared yoga pants with your go-to turtleneck sweater and an oversized blazer or a vintage crewneck and chunky gold jewelry. 🔑

how to style uggs: flared yoga pants

  5. Sweatpants. This is a great way to continue the monochrome outfit look (remember all the neutral sweat suits you acquired in 2021?) and break up your look with Uggs. Tuck your sweatpants straight into the Uggs or layer them with crew socks. 🧦

Did you catch our last Weekly Sale? 15% off all sweatpants and joggers. Catch it next time!

    how to style uggs: sweatpants

PS. Want to know how to clean your Uggs and care for them? Most of the recent styles will come pre-treated by Ugg directly but we’d recommend looking for a kit that has a cleaning AND weather treating solution. The kits with a brush and stain eraser are clutch. 💯 Now your Uggs are ready for all the elements!

How to Have a More Sustainable Black Friday

Learn how to turn your Black Friday into ♻️Green Friday♻️ by saving money AND the planet today!

Did you know the biggest shopping day of the year also has a big impact on the Planet due to higher production and shipping? When Black Friday deals drop there’s no reason we should drop our love for Earth too. Turn Black Friday into Green Friday by shopping the Curtsy way. Here’s how to find great deals that make a small impact on your wallet and the Planet.

👋 Shop second hand (*cough-cough* CURTSY)

Spend Black Friday right by saving money AND the planet when you thrift shop. What’s your favorite online thrift store and why is it Curtsy 😉? There’s no better place to #extendthetrend and shop looks you love without all the guilt. Plus, every day feels like Black Friday with daily deals on the Curtsy app.

🛍 Support small & local

This year it’s more important than ever to shop small, because many small businesses are feeling the impact of the pandemic. Show your support by shopping locally at a boutique or online at Etsy. Small shops offer just as great of deals as the big guys.

💚 Shop eco-conscious brands

We see major red flags when a brand is afraid of commitment (to us and the Planet). This weekend shop responsibly from the below list of eco-conscious brands we admire.

Girlfriend-collective (30% off everything)
Galerie.La (Buy one get one 30% off all clothing)
Able (25% off site-wide)
Naadam (40% Off)
Wild cosmetics (25% off site-wide)
Pact (25% Off)
Parade (40% Off)
Whimsy and Row (Up to 75% off )
Tentree (up to 50% off)
Levi’s (40% off + free shipping)
Aday (up to 30% off select styles)

✔️Keep calm and shop smart

Impulse buys are fun, but knowing you took your time to find the best deal on what you actually need can be even better. This year make a list of what you need before you start shopping so you don’t gobble up every sale you see.

👯‍♀️Shopping in person? Buddy up!

Have plans to add fresh finds to an IRL shopping cart? Invite a wingman to your in-person adventure and carpool from store to store. Plus, don’t forget to bring along your reusable tote for your new items. The Planet will thank you!
